The "Ovid Butler, Sr." State Historical Marker was dedicated on Saturday, June 23, 2007 in Indianapolis. Pamela Bennett, Director of the Indiana Historical Bureau, spoke at the dedication ceremony.
The marker was installed in the yard of "Forest Home," the house where Butler lived until his death.
