INDIANAPOLIS - In celebration of the Fourth Annual Civil Rights Game on Friday, August 14, 2015 at Victory Field, The Indiana Civil Rights Commission (ICRC) and the Indianapolis Indians announced that they will, once again, be hosting a Student Essay Contest for all Indiana elementary school students. The contest asks students to submit an essay on: "Why is it important for ALL children to get a quality education?"
Contest entries should be limited to no more than 500 words and submitted by Friday, July 17, 2015.

Essay Contest Winners Receive:
First Place: The first place winner will have their essay published in the Indianapolis Recorder and receive an Indianapolis Clowns throwback jersey as worn by the Indians during the Fourth Annual Civil Rights Game on August 14, 2015. They will also receive 8 tickets to the game on Thursday, August 14, 2015 and have the opportunity to throw out the first pitch with Indiana Civil Rights Commission's Executive Director Jamal L. Smith.
Second Place: The second place winner will receive an Indianapolis Indians T-shirt and four tickets to the Fourth Annual Civil Rights Game on Thursday, August 14, 2015 at Victory Field.
Third Place: The third place winner will receive a signed Rowdie baseball or an Indianapolis Indians souvenir bat and four tickets to the Fourth Annual Civil Rights Game on Thursday, August 14, 2015 at Victory Field.
