INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Civil Rights Commission (ICRC) announced the hiring of Christine Meyer as the Deputy Director of External Affairs. Meyer joins the ICRC after serving to increase diversity and inclusion awareness with Goodwill Industries of Central Indiana.
“We are very pleased to welcome Christine to the team. Our Outreach Division is a very important piece to the overall success of the agency,” states Jamal Smith, ICRC Executive Director. “In light of Christine’s background, experience, and passion for the work, I’m sure she’ll keep our efforts moving in the right direction.”
As the Deputy Director of External Affairs, Meyer is now responsible for managing the direction of the education and outreach efforts of the ICRC, as well as providing guidance for the five cultural commissions that are held within the agency.
Meyer completed her undergraduate degree at Butler University before receiving her Masters of Arts from Pennsylvania State University. Prior to her efforts with Goodwill Industries, she worked to increase employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities with Gateway Services.
“I am excited to be a part of the Indiana Civil Rights Commission because I strongly believe in ensuring equal opportunity for all Hoosiers. I’ve worked within the Indianapolis community over the past six years, and now I’m eager to impact the lives of citizens and communities across the state,” said Meyer.
The Indiana Civil Rights Commission enforces the Indiana civil rights laws and provides education and services to the public in an effort to ensure equal opportunity for all Hoosiers and visitors to the State of Indiana. For more information, contact Christine Meyer at (317) 232-2651.
