Jeffrey T. Wood served as a police officer in Indianapolis, Indiana, for more than 22 years. Jeff worked in uniform patrol, as an undercover detective with the Violent Crimes Unit and in general investigations. Jeff was a field training officer from 2004-2008 and a member of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department's (IMPD) Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team from 2004 to 2014.
Jeff has been an Indiana state certified instructor through the Indiana Law Enforcement Training Board (ILETB) since 2002 and has experience teaching multiple disciplines. Jeff is intimately familiar with the creation, development, implementation, and instruction of law enforcement curricula.
Since 2017 Jeff has worked with the Institute for Intergovernmental Research (IIR) instructing civilians, federal, state and local officers across the country in officer safety, roadway safety and suicide awareness on behalf of the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) a component of the Department of Justice (DOJ).
With his efforts at IMPD and IIR, Jeff has worked with and trained thousands of students across the country. Jeff attended Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis and was an honor graduate of the Indiana Law Enforcement Training Academy.
