Health First Indiana (HFI) Fund Coordinator

The Health First Indiana Fund Coordinator works independently to perform a wide range of complex administrative and clerical duties to support the Health Department in executing the Health First Indiana program. This individual provides services to a wide range of internal and external contacts, anticipates and resolves problems, manages and coordinates all activities related to Health First Indiana, and updates the supervisor on the status of execution.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of the Health First Indiana program, including strategic planning submission, retention of program records, and prepare quarterly and annual reports as required by the Indiana Department of Health (IDOH).
- Prepare core services plan for Kosciusko County, provide updates on the core services plan, and ensure those are communicated to the appropriate parties. Follow-up the public health core services delivery. Create and review key performance indicators (KPI) to evaluate the impact of the plan in the community.
- Serve as the principal source of information on Health First Indiana and is responsible for communicating information to all applicable impacted parties.
- May be required to attend meetings of County governing bodies, make presentations and respond to inquiries regarding the program.
- Work with local partners and community-based organizations to complete the County and/or community health assessments, participate in meetings and activities as needed.
- Draft, edit and prepare correspondence, reports and other material using word processing, spreadsheets and/or databases.
- Prepare and maintain the program records and review complex documents, reports, etc., to assure compliance with requirements and/or government regulations and notify the supervisor of unusual situations.
- May be asked to arrange for the use of facilities to advise on Health First Indiana hosting meetings of the advisory committee and community meetings related to executing the program.
- Monitor and reconcile budget(s) including grants, maintain financial documentation, and proved information, research, statistics and analysis. Make recommendations on expenditures towards a defined budget and in accordance with the State and County key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Work in conjunction with the Health Department Administrator and Health Officer to ensure short and long-range goals of the Health First Indiana program are met. Revise goals in formulation with strategic directions and monitor progress towards achievement of goals.
- Periodically attend professional education workshops and seminars.
- Perform Health Department-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration preferred. Previous experience in a health-related field would beneficial.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to meet all Department hiring requirements, including passage of a drug test.
- Must have excellent written and communication skills and must be organized and have strong attention to detail.
- Must be able to effectively communicate orally and in writing with co-workers, other County departments, elected officials, law enforcement agencies, IDOH, Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM), social service agencies, physicians, hospitals, personnel from a variety of other health-related agencies, and the public, including being sensitive to professional ethics, gender, cultural diversities and disabilities.
- Thorough knowledge of standard office procedures and ability to apply such knowledge to a variety of interrelated processes, tasks and operations.
- Working knowledge of managing public health programs and processes, and ability to properly prepare and compile required reports and ensure compliance with Health First Indiana funding requirements.
- Ability to maintain positive community support and coordinate and present public speaking presentations and special events.
- Ability to comply with all employer and department policies and work rules, including but not limited to, attendance, safety, drug-free workplace and personal conduct.
- Possession of a valid Indiana driver's license and demonstrated safe driving record.
Health First Indiana (HFI) Secretary - 2 positions
Part-Time - 25 hours
Full-Time - 37.5 hours
Starting Wage: $19.44
Responsibilities:
- Answer telephone, respond to inquiries, take messages or transfers to appropriate department or individual.
- Greet and assist office visitors, including assisting with various grant applications.
- Perform various clerical tasks, such as preparing letters, emails, documents and reports.
- Type, files, retrieve and copy various documents as assigned.
- Represent HFI on various committees and organizations, including but not limited to Breathe Well Coalition and Chronic Disease and Cancer Coalition.
- Attend meetings as needed and take notes for other HFI staff.
- Assist to maintain spreadsheets of HFI data and financial matters.
- Perform computer data entry and queries, including timely and accurate submission of HFI Core Public Health Tracker data.
- Collect statistics regarding HFI, prepare and submit reports.
- Organize marketing program for HFI, including but not limited to newspaper, social media, and radio.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or HSE required
- Ability to meet all employer and department hiring requirements, including passage of a drug test.
- Working knowledge of and ability to make practical application of state and local rules, regulations and procedures regarding HFI.
- Working knowledge of standard office procedures and ability to apply such knowledge to a variety of interrelated processes, tasks and operations.
- Working knowledge of standard English grammar, spelling, and punctuation, and ability to prepare detailed reports within established deadlines and prepare and present public speaking presentations.
- Ability to competently serve the public with diplomacy and respect.

4-H Summer Staff - Extension Office - 2 positions
Full-Time - 37.5 hours from late May through early August.
Starting Wage: $15.45
Responsibilities:
- Commitment and dedication to young people and their growth in all areas.
- Follow all 4-H guidelines and policies of the Purdue University Cooperative Extension Service and Indiana 4-H Program in Kosciusko County.
- Promote favorable public relations and image for the 4-H program.
- Work directly under the supervision of the Purdue Extension Educators, the 4-H Administrative Assistant and 4-H Program Assistant.
- Assist with clerical, organizational, and educational responsibilities.
- Commit to working all hours as schedules the week before, during, and following the Kosciusko County Community Fair, which is July 6-12, 2025.
Qualifications:
- A willingness to become familiar with and work within the philosophy and guidelines of the Purdue University Cooperative Extension Service and Indiana 4-H Program in Kosciusko County.
- A sincere interest in sharing knowledge and skills related to 4-H and youth development with youth and adults in a educational setting.
- The ability to work and communicate effectively in both verbal and written forms.
- Experience with the 4-H program as a youth member or adult volunteer preferred but not required.
- Must pass a mandatory drug test.
- College experience preferred.
