| Description of rule | Adds 828 IAC 1-1-25 to establish requirements for the prescribing of opioid controlled substances for pain management. The proposed rule is needed to establish standards and protocols for the prescribing of opioid controlled substances by dentists for non-terminal, chronic pain, consistent with standard medical practices in pain management treatment, including the use of abuse deterrent formulations as required by Senate Enrolled Act 534 (2015). |
