Description of rule | Adds a new rule concerning convictions of concern. This rule implements the provisions of IC 25-1-1.1-6 requiring every board, commission or committee under IC 25 to revise its licensing or certification requirements to explicitly list the convictions of concern that may disqualify an individual from receiving a license; to establish criteria to determine whether an applicant should be denied a license if they have a conviction of concern; and to establish a procedure for an individual to receive a pre-application determination as to whether their criminal history would preclude them from obtaining a license. This rule will apply to the following license types: physician assistants; hearing aid dealers; occupational therapists and occupational therapist assistants; respiratory care practitioners; acupuncturists; genetic counselors; anesthesiologist assistants; certified direct entry midwives; diabetes educators; dietitians; physicians and osteopathic physicians; and, all other licenses issued under IC 25-22.5. |
