Winter Weather Siren
Press Release
Johnson County Emergency Management Agency along with the County Fire Chiefs Association have a new policy that states when the weather is 35 degrees or lower that the Johnson County’s Public Safety Communications Center will not set off the weather sirens for the weekly Friday test at 11:00 am. The Federal Signal company has recommended not testing weather sirens in cold weather as ice can form in the weather siren and blow fuses. This new winter weather siren testing policy will be initiated immediately. If citizens have any questions or concerns, please call the EMA office.
