Environmental health is a branch of public health that focuses on the relationship between people and their environment, promotes health and well-being and fosters safe communities. The Environmental Health Specialist is responsible for the investigation and correction of conditions within Blackford County. Performance is based upon information received and interpretation of Indiana Administrative Codes, regulations, and ordinances. As an agent of the local Health Officer, the Environmental Health Specialist reacts to adverse conditions within the community with the purpose of correcting health hazards.
