Disease Prevention
Immunizations protect against serious diseases that can cause disability and death. These diseases still strike thousands throughout the world each year. Today, there are relatively few cases of non-vaccine preventable diseases in the United States, but outbreaks do still occur each year because people don't get vaccinated. Vaccines continue to be safe and effective.
Programs
The Porter County Health Department provides a number of different immunization programs including:
- Adult immunizations
- Childhood immunizations
- Travel immunizations
- Flu vaccine clinics (during peak vaccination request periods)
- Family flu vaccine clinics (during peak vaccination request periods)
