Municipal Utilities
The following municipal water utilities are under IURC jurisdiction:
More than 370 additional municipal water utilities have withdrawn from IURC jurisdiction as allowed by Indiana law. Rates and charges for those utilities are established by the locally elected city and town councils.
However, municipal utilities may seek IURC approval of ordinances giving them exclusive service territories outside city and town boundaries. Recent cases include:
