Permit Application Assistance Manual
A variety of permitting and floodplain resources are available on the DNR Division of Water’s website. Below is a listing of a few helpful resources.

This assessment includes the Base Flood Elevation at the site and can indicate whether a state or local permit would be required for construction.
DoWORC – This interactive map allows the public to easily find information from the DNR’s records, including permit applications, floodplain requests, dam records, and violations records.
Unity Database– This website allows the public access to the division’s database, which includes the ability to research previous files and view the status of pending permit applications.
Waterways Website – IDEM and DNR partner to assist in providing a single email response that includes a determination of if and what permits are needed for a proposed project.
Indiana Floodplain Mapping – This website contains a listing to multiple tools and information associated with floodplain mapping, including the Peak Discharge Determination System, Indiana Hydrology and Hydraulics Model Library, Fluvial Erosion Hazards in Indiana, and frequently asked questions.
