SCHOOLS
School Districts interested in becoming an approved GWEC program must submit a GWEC Application Form and be approved by the Governor’s Workforce Cabinet.
The application is open to any interested Indiana secondary school. All applications will be reviewed for approval by the Governor’s Workforce Cabinet.

.School Application Process
- Local schools need to submit a completed GWEC Application Form by emailing it to workethic@dwd.in.gov
- All applications should follow the prescribed Employability Skills Benchmarks, found at the Indiana Department of Education.
- Schools who submit a completed application should receive a notification of approval from the Department of Workforce Development within ten (10) business days from application.
- Completed applications MUST include letters of employer support.
EMPLOYERS
Employers have options when choosing how to participate with their local school on creating a successful outcome for the students working hard to achieve the certificate offered through this program.

Potential Employer Talent Pool
The GWEC offers employers access to the pool of talent they want: reliable students who will show up work-ready, on time, and organized. Students who have demonstrated work-ready employability skills and are recognized by achieving the Governor's Work Ethic Certificate.
GWEC currently has approximately 600 employers, across all industries, willing to offer one or more incentive to attract the GWEC certified talent. Employers are willing to provide incentives to attract the right talent, and GWEC certified students bring the employability skills employers are looking for.
