PERF and TRF Hybrid or My Choice Plan membership overview
If you're new to PERF and have been enrolled in the PERF Hybrid or My Choice plan by your employer, choose from "I'm a Public Employees' Retirement Fund (PERF) Member" under Plan-specific New Member Information below to learn more about your plan.
If you're a new teacher or public employee with a choice between the Hybrid or My Choice plans, you have 60 days from your date of hire to choose between two retirement options – the traditional PERF or TRF Hybrid plan (defined benefit plus a defined contribution (DC) account) or the My Choice: Retirement Savings Plan. If you do not choose within 60 days, you will be automatically enrolled in the designated default plan. Your choice, or default, is irrevocable so please make an informed decision.
INPRS Member Advocates and Retirement & Financial Education consultants can help you learn about the differences between the two plans. You may also want to consult your financial advisor for specific financial impacts on selecting one plan over another. Contact INPRS with questions at (844) GO-INPRS or (844) 464-6777.
Click one of the buttons below for details about Hybrid and My Choice plan options.

If you're a Public Employees' Retirement Fund (PERF), Teachers' Retirement Fund (TRF), or Legislators' Defined Contribution (LE DC) plan member, you should know that your retirement plan includes a defined contribution (DC) account. Contributions are made to your account and invested. INPRS offers six investment fund options for you to choose from when deciding how you want your DC account balance and future contributions allocated. The amount you earn in that account will help to provide you with income for your retirement future. For more information about INPRS DC accounts, the investment options available to you, and things you should consider when investing, watch the video below, check out the Investing 101 and Educational Videos sections of this site, and log on to your INPRS online account at myINPRSretirement.org.
The INPRS self-service website myINPRSretirement.org has retirement planning and education tools to help you determine how much money you need in retirement. It will also help you make decisions about your INPRS account investments, budgeting plans, and other retirement planning insights. There are also tools to help members who are near retirement to prepare and apply for their INPRS benefits.
myOrangeMoney®
Our interactive experience, myOrangeMoney®, compiles your INPRS benefit, personal savings, and estimated Social Security benefit amount to give you an estimate of your monthly income in your retirement years.
Once you get your number based on your current habits, you can adjust the amount you save, years until retirement, and even investment returns to see how changes to your plan may impact your retirement paycheck. We encourage you to review this tool often and especially as your income and retirement plans change.
Get to myOrangeMoney® by logging on to your myINPRSretirement.org account. For more info about how to use the myOrangeMoney® tool, check out our tutorial in the Video Highlights section of this page.
