The Clermont Town Council is the legislative body for the Town of Clermont. Town Council meetings are always held on the second Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. Residents are encouraged to attend the council meetings, and public comment is permitted at the beginning of every meeting. Quality of Life Plan
In May 2022, the Clermont Town Council adopted a Quality of Life Plan to guide its decision-making for the long term. The plan outlines a vision for the future of Clermont:
In the future, Clermont is known as a sustainable, attractive, walkable, creative, and active community that prides itself in a village atmosphere comfortable to all walks of life, including our youth, young professionals, seniors, et al. All transportation modes are fully and safely supported, including walking and biking. The business of town management is directed at economic development, community building, and quality-of-life issues such as public safety.
Council Members
The Clermont Town Council is composed of five elected councillors who serve four-year terms. Traditionally, the council has divided areas of responsibility among the different councillors, who fill their positions for a year (from the first meeting of the year, in January, until the following year's first meeting).

Clerk-Treasurer and Town Attorney
The clerk-treasurer is an elected official who serves a four-year term. The clerk-treasurer handles many duties for the town, performing important administrative tasks but primarily those outlined in state statute. See Indiana Code 36-5-6-6 for details.
