Community Initiatives

Daviess County - Daviess County outreach was out at the Daviess Community Hospital for the "Healthy You, Healthy Baby" event sponsored by MD Wise. The event is held yearly to help promote healthy pregnancies and babies. Our outreach staff were able to answer questions that attendees had about MAGP/HIP and SNAP.

Vanderburgh County - The Hola festival was an event hosted for Latinos in Vanderburgh County. There were approximately 2000 people in attendance. There were a large variety of information booths such as the one DFR hosted as well as food tables and other vendors. DFR actually took applications for those who needed benefits, approximately 50 in all.

Scott County - DFR has provided staff at the Community Outreach Center since the initiation of the Center on March 30, 2015. DFR assists Scott County Residents with applying for Presumptive Eligibility (Immediate Health Coverage) and completion of the full Health Coverage Application. Through June 24, 2015, there have been 259 Approved PE applications and 177 approved Medicaid applications. THANK YOU REGION 8!

Howard County - Staff from Howard county DFR supported the local women's shelter by participating in the 2015 Walk-A-Mile in My Shoes campaign and raising $619.
