FSSA IGC CAMPUS BUILDING RULES
To maintain a functional and safe work environment, standard practices are needed for having clearly communicated expectations. In conjunction with updated safety and facility rules from IDOA Facilities Management, new building rules have been established for FSSA employees at the Indiana Government Center Campus. FSSA staff will be responsible for following these rules to ensure that the Agency is compliant with IDOA requirements and maintains a professional work environment.
- All visitors, including relatives of staff, must check in at the FSSA suite reception area and be escorted while within FSSA suites. If there is a visitor log, names must be clearly printed with time-in and time-out recorded.
- All Facility requests must be directed to PPO.
- Break areas and their configurations must be approved by PPO to ensure adequate electrical service and capacity.
- Electric heaters, fans or humidifiers may not be used without approval by PPO. IDOA IGC Campus rules and specifications for these devices will be provided on request or can be found on the PPO HUB Page. Exceptions to this should follow the SPD Reasonable Accommodation Policy in coordination with SPD and PPO.
- Ergonomic Health concerns for workspace and furnishing configurations should be directed to HRFSSA@fssa.in.gov or your division designated SPD HR representative.
- No food related or heating personal appliances may be in cubical workspaces.
*Food kept within drawers or cabinets must be kept in sealed containers to prevent vermin. - No object may extend beyond the top of cubicle walls without approval of PPO.
- No furniture or obstruction may extend beyond the entrance of an individual's workstation.
- Obstructions of/in entrance doors, vestibules, passages, courts, corridors, or other walkways is not allowed.
- Extension cords may not be used without approval of PPO.
- Surge strips must not be plugged in a chain. This is an OSHA violation and allows for risk of fire in overloading the circuit.
- Surge protectors must be used for all computer equipment.
- No items may be hung from the ceiling without approval of PPO.
- First aid kits should be where they can be seen and are readily accessible. Locations of the First Aid kits are managed by Floor Warden staff.
- No storage, furniture, or other objects may be placed within 24 inches of ceilings or obstructing sprinklers.
- No live plants or plant parts are allowed without supervisor approval. Any pest control issues or maintenance issues arising from live plants in the building shall be paid for by the affecting program.
- All plants NOT within an occupied cube or office must have label with a current custodian name on the plant container.
- When staff move or exit employment, keys must be left in the upper-right most desk drawer for the furniture and/or door in their office/cube.
