Check Care Cure Campaign Shows Encouraging Signs
Since last year, FSSA and the Indiana Department of Health have been spreading the word about the importance of hepatitis C testing in Indiana, as well as information about effective treatment available to Hoosiers. Since our launch of the Check. Care. Cure. campaign in October, we have provided several points of information about hep C and testing, including our website: CheckCareCure.in.gov.
Now we have encouraging signs of progress in the fight against hep C. The Office of Medicaid Policy and Planning pharmacy team has tracked how many Medicaid members start on the hep C drugs: Mavyret, Epclusa, and Vosevi each month. Data for the last 12 months is shown below and shows a positive trend!
A second radio ad was recently produced to further emphasize the CheckCareCure.in.gov website. This new: 30-second commercial can be heard by clicking here, and is now in circulation statewide through our partnership with the Indiana Broadcasters Association. Since October, nearly 18,000 radio ads in the state and 3,000 television ads have aired, due to our partnership with the Indiana Broadcasters Association. That’s a total of 20,757 spots aired throughout the state.
We hope that you join us in supporting the Check. Care. Cure. campaign and for the important work being done to promote testing and treatment to help lower the hep C rate among Hoosiers.
