Required FSSA Staff Ethics Training
Beginning October 21, 2019, the State of Indiana will refresh its workforce on the Indiana Code of Ethics. The Code of Ethics establishes the ethical standards of conduct for state employees, special state appointees, state officers, and persons who have a business relationship with the State. Training the state’s workforce in these ethical standards of conduct is essential to provide all Hoosiers with the confidence that state workers are acting with integrity and that state business is being conducted for the public good.
Under administrative rule (42 IAC 1-4-1) all state employees, special state appointees, and state officers are required to complete the ethics training at least every two years. This training is mandatory for all of these state workers, regardless if they have already taken the training within the past year. The state workforce will have until November 21, 2019, to complete the training.
The training module will be available to employees in the “My Learning” area of the PeopleSoft Enterprise Learning Management by following the steps found here OIG Ethics Quick Step Guide Employees will be automatically enrolled and can begin the training on October 21.
Please note that special state appointees (board and commission members) will complete the training via the OIG website here https://www.in.gov/ig/2916.htm and not through PeopleSoft as in the past.
Contractors have a separate training course available on the OIG website here https://www.in.gov/ig/2689.htm.
