SECC: Need help finding a charity?
Before logging into the SECC website to make a donation would it be helpful to look at a list of charities? Well you’re in luck! Please click here for a PDF and here for an Excel spreadsheet of over 1,600 charities available to donate through the SECC campaign that are local, national and international. If your charity is not listed, you may also write-in a charity not in the list. Enter “Write-In” in the Search by Charity Name box and click on the logo. A pop-up box will appear where you may enter your charity’s information. The SECC fiscal agent will verify the charity prior to distribution funds distribution.
From the SECC call out
Earlier in the campaign there was a call out on The Hub for staff to share their favorite charities. Below are a couple that were sent in, and if you would like to have your favorite charity featured during this year’s SECC campaign please email SECC@fssa.in.gov with a brief description of the charity, a link to their website, and their EIN code. You can look up a charities EIN code using Guidestar. Please note the charity must be a 501(c)3.
Indiana Coalition To End Sexual Assault Inc- EIN: 47-5205431
ICESAHT serves the full spectrum of sexual assault and human trafficking service providers, advocates and allies through education, comprehensive training opportunities, technical assistance and community and campus prevention programs.
In five short years, they have:
- Increased the number Rape Crisis Centers and Sexual Assault Response Teams and have developed and launched a comprehensive training program
- Increased the collaboration of the IPATH task force.
- Launched Speak Up Speak Out Project which engages college age men to help end rape culture and be allies in the movement to end sexual assault.
- Launched a statewide public awareness prevention campaign, StepIn.
Susie’s Place - EIN: 26-2132955
Susie’s Place, also known as the Hendricks County Child Advocacy Center, is a nonprofit organization that provides a safe, welcoming, and structured environment for forensic interviews with children. Their mission is “to provide a neutral, child-friendly center to investigate alleged child abuse and neglect in Indiana, while keeping the comfort and safety of the child the first priority.” Besides conducting interviews by trained forensic interviewers they also facilitate trainings on abuse prevention and recognition for people who work with children of all ages. Susie’s Place also manages a therapy dog program for children who visit their center as well as kids in the community.
YETI Kids - EIN: 20-0222095
The Youth Enhancement and Training Initiative (YETI) is a 501(c)(3) that built and funds an orphanage in Nepal. YETI’s yearly commitment is $20,000, which covers food, shelter, healthcare and education for the 19 children that call the orphanage home.
You, Yes, You! Project – EIN 47-3760453 – FSSA charity of choice
The You Yes You! Project was launched in 2014 when Ericka Sanders organized the first father-daughter dance to take place inside an Indiana correctional facility at the now closed Indianapolis Re-Entry Educational Facility. The mission has since grown to build relationships between incarcerated fathers and their children and helps fathers connect with re-entry services.
