Trainees must complete the Motor Carrier Inspector School that has been approved by the Superintendent. The training will be conducted Monday through Friday at the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division in Indianapolis, IN, and housing will be provided. During the academy, trainees will develop skills including emergency vehicle operation, defensive tactics, communications, hazardous materials, first-aid, post-crash investigation and truck inspections.
Trainees are paid during the school and are provided all necessary equipment.
