- TRAIL CONDITION: GOOD. Spring is often accompanied by rain and storms. Be prepared for wetter trail conditions in low lying sections of the trail and the occasional downed trees. Report adverse trail conditions on the KT to Jackson-Washington State Forest. Please be specific with type of hazard and location.
Knobstone Trail advisories
- A race will take place on April 19, 2025, on the Knobstone Trail. The event will begin at Deam Lake SRA and end at Delaney Creek Park. This special event will have an impact on the trail between these two properties and several of the trailheads from 6 a.m. until dusk.

Reroutes
The Knobstone Trail traverses actively managed forest areas and will have periodic temporary reroutes for user safety during management activities. Check the list below for current routing alerts.
Maps
The Knobstone Trail map shows the general route of the trail and the topography of the area. Minor reroutes are not indicated on the map. In some areas, the trail follows a very narrow corridor of public property. The KT map shows the public property boundaries. Maps can be purchased at the DNR customer service center by calling (317) 232-4200. They can also be purchased near the trail at Clark State Forest, Jackson Washington State Forest, Deam Lake SRA, Starve-Hollow SRA, and Delaney Park. The maps are $10 with shipping but not including tax. Size is 24" x 36" printed in full color on waterproof paper.
