FSSA Grants Office
Federal grant dollars play a vital role in supporting the FSSA mission to compassionately serve Hoosiers of all ages and connect them with social services, health care and their communities. Federal discretionary/project grants are essential resources to implement best practices, support and expand existing programs and encourage strategic planning and innovation beyond what state dollars are able to support. The FSSA Grants Office is a key player in identifying, applying for, and supporting the management of federal grant projects and activities. The office is deeply engaged with FSSA leadership and the State Budget Agency to understand policies, priorities, and issues impacting federal grant decisions.
Using this broad-context understanding, the Grants Office is able to: better identify appropriate grant opportunities; make connections between complementary initiatives in the agency to maximize impact, and to provide guidance/resources for developing strong applications. The Grants Office maintains extensive resources to assist divisions in developing strong, fundable grant applications and to be good stewards of the federal dollars awarded to FSSA. The Grants Office also serves as a clearinghouse for information about all grants, including formula grants and applications, both funded and unfunded.
