SECC update: Final push includes "eat a bug" and "jeans days"
Team FSSA,
As this year’s SECC campaign starts to wind down I wanted to give a quick update on where we stand on reaching our goal. To-date, over 38% of staff have pledged $171,241.62 towards our goal of $175,000, which is our highest participation rate ever. This leaves us only needing to raise $3,758.38 by the end of the campaign of Oct. 29.
To help us reach our goal I would like to challenge staff to reach one of two milestones. When we reach a staff participation of 40% OR raise the remaining $3,758.38, FSSA staff will be able to have jeans days for the rest of the year, as long as it’s appropriate according to our “dress for the day” policy.
And if we hit both, I will also eat a bug.
That’s right, if we reach 40% participation AND raise $175,000, I will eat an actual bug, which will be recorded and shared with you, and staff will have jeans days for the rest of year.
It is always hard to ask people to give money. Especially people who have given so much of their time over the last year. Giving is, however, a great way to be reminded of what makes humanity great. If you have already given as part of the SECC campaign or you support charities separate from SECC – Thank you. If you have not, please consider joining thousands of other state employees and participate in this year’s SECC campaign. Information on how to make a donation or find a charity is listed below and if you have any questions, please email SECC@fssa.in.gov.

Making a donation:
FSSA employees can donate through a payroll deduction for a minimum of $1 per paycheck. One of the benefits of using this method is that your donation rolls over to the next year, so you only have to sign up once. To sign up for a payroll deduction, please visit the SECC website and click on "Donate Now" and login.
