About this dashboard

In this analysis, the population of individuals released from incarceration was explored. Within this population, it was determined which individuals participated in substance abuse programming while incarcerated and their completion status of the program. Post-incarceration overdose outcomes for both program participants and non-program participants were explored.

Data for this dashboard comes from the following data sources:

  • Indiana Department of Homeland Security (IDHS) Emergency Medical Services (EMS) data. This data includes information pertaining to individuals who have overdosed.
  • Indiana Department of Health (IDOH) Emergency Department (ED) data. This data includes information pertaining to individuals who have overdosed.
  • Indiana Department of Health (IDOH) Vital Records data. This data includes information related to the cause of death of individuals.
  • Indiana Department of Corrections (DOC) population data. This includes data about the prison population.
