Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT)

Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT)

MRT is a cognitive-behavioral counseling program that combines education, group and individual counseling, and structured exercises designed to foster moral development and reasoning in clients. By use of interactive group sessions and homework assignments, MRT seeks to move clients from hedonistic reasoning levels to levels where concerns for social rules and others becomes important. MRT typically takes 16-36 group sessions to complete. The length of the program will vary amongst each person depending on how long it takes to pass all 12 steps.

All participants are required to attend the program on time and participate in a non-disruptive manner. Any rude or disrespectful behavior towards facilitators or other participants may result in removal and discharge of the program. Active participation in group discussion and activities is important and necessary. Rules and guildelines will be set by facilitators and participants together. Failure to follow the rules could result in not passing a step or removal and discharge of the program. NO one will be permitted to attend group who appears under the influence of alcohol or any other mood-altering drug.
