DOC Supervisory

DOC Supervisory Program Overview

Mandatory program for all supervisors this course was developed to meet the needs of the Department’s supervisory workforce. It has evolved from a nine-day program to a three-day program and is designed to be a building block course with each course building from the previous. The program focuses on fundamental competencies of supervision with all areas that are related to personnel performance have been developed in collaboration with the State Personnel Department. After the first quarter, the program is held twice a quarter for the rest of the year. Depending on Region, the program is either two 12-hour days, or three 7.5-hour days. Eligibility Requirements

  • Have three to nine months experience in assigned classification before attending the program
  • Applicable to any persons in a supervisory classification
  • Must be Grade Level 36 and above

Selection Criteria

  • Supervisors who are new to their role

Program Schedule

Program will be held at least once per quarter, per Region.

Depending on Region, program is either two 12-hour days, or three 7.5-hour days.

Evening sessions are being offered for 2025.
