Team Challenge

Who can participate?

The competition is open to all full-time state employees. Employees and spouses who are enrolled in a State Personnel Department sponsored medical plan earn $10 in rewards for participating in a Team Challenge, for a maximum of $40 annually.

Employees who are not enrolled in a State Personnel Department sponsored medical plan will be able to create challenge-only accounts with ActiveHealth. You can connect your device and participate in the challenge. You will not be eligible to earn wellness rewards through the challenge. The ActiveHealth Wellness Rewards program is a coordinated benefit within the health plan and is only available to those enrolled in the health plan.

How to participate

To participate, start by logging in to the ActiveHealth portal and select “Challenges” from the navigation. Then join or create a team using the steps below.

• Join an existing team. Use the search bar to look up a team name or person on the team. After finding a team, click the “Join” button.
• Create your own team by clicking “Create a Team.” Invite others to join your team by sending the link to your team to coworkers. Note: It is recommended that teams consist of at least 10 members, and can have up to 100 members.

Log in to ActiveHealth to Get Started

Challenge details

When each team challenges starts, you can log in to your ActiveHealth portal to check your progress. Every 25% completed toward your daily goal (10,000 steps and 15 active minutes) moves your team forward in the challenge. Reaching 125% of your daily goal gives your team a bonus to help claim the top spot in the leaderboard. Team rankings refresh every morning.

Make sure you’ve connected your device before the challenge starts so you don’t miss out on any steps or active minutes.

Health benefits of physical activity

Use the Team Challenge to refresh your fitness routine or start a new one! Regular physical activity is an important factor in maintaining overall health. Some health benefits of regular physical activity include:

• Regulation of blood pressure
• Management of anxiety and depression
• Preventing weight gain and obesity

The American College of Sports Medicine recommends at least 150 minutes of aerobic activity every week, that's just 30 minutes, five days a week.
