Officer Breann Leath once served as a correctional officer on the nursery unit, before becoming a
police officer in Indianapolis. On April 9, 2020, she was killed in the line of duty while responding to a domestic violence call. On April 16, 2020, the unit was renamed in her honor. Indiana department of Correction is honored to share the legacy of Breann Leath for generations to come.
