How to Get Started

To get started, you'll need to create a new account on GettingOut.com.

Once your account is set up, you can search for your incarcerated loved ones and add them as a contact. Your account will include a "Friends & Family " feature, allowing you to add funds. These funds can be used to send messages and photos to your incarcerated loved ones.

After the transfer is complete, Friends & Family can continue to fund an incarcerated individual's PIN debit account through ConnectNetwork. PIN debit funds will now work for BOTH phones and tablets.

GettingOut Accounts can be set up now in preparation for the transition, you will be able to add the incarcerated individual as a contact once they receive their new tablet.

Compliance with Policies

Pictures and videograms must comply with the requirements for printed matter. Incarcerated individuals receiving pictures or videograms shall be informed that the picture’s or videogram’s content is subject to the same rules and procedure as outlined in policy 02-01-103 Offender Correspondence.

Juvenile Facilities Messaging Features

Incarcerated youth will continue to receive two free phone calls per week, as well as free digital and video messaging. Friends and family of youth housed in our juvenile facilities will need to create an account at GettingOut.com to send messages. While outgoing messages from the youth remain free, standard messaging costs will still apply to incoming messages.

Adding Money to Accounts Remains Unaffected

  • There will be no changes to funding your loved one’s PIN Debit account for phone calls, the trust fund, messages, and tablet usage. You can still add money through ConnectNetwork as you do now.
  • Money added to your GettingOut.com account can only be used by YOU to send messages and photos to YOUR incarcerated loved ones.

Ways to Pay

Messaging rates vary from facility to facility. To learn more about the specific costs and fees associated with your loved one's facility, please sign in to your Getting out account. Once you add an incarcerated individual to your messaging service and click “Buy Credits,” the individual rate will appear.
