A project to correct the curve conditions on S.R. 327 in DeKalb County, between County Road (CR) 34 and CR 36, began in May of 2018 with utility clearing and excavating for the new roadway. The project realigned curves that formed 90-degree junctions. The new alignment was constructed south of the existing roadway and the new road was opened to traffic in late 2018.
Between 2010 and 2014, there were 24 vehicular crashes, with 12 resulting in property damage, 11 included personal injury, and one fatality along this stretch of S.R. 327. This project aims to increase roadway safety by adjusting the horizontal alignment of the road, improving sight distance and upgrading the road to current standards.
