INDOT Seeks Artists
The application process has closed for this project.
INDOT is designing an art exhibit at the Kankakee Welcome Center (SB I-65, Mile Marker 231) and is looking for artists.
The Exhibit
The exhibit will consist of seven 15-20 feet tall wind turbine blades mounted vertically. There will be a boardwalk running through the exihibit for visitors to view the artwork.
The Artwork
The murals should represent the northwest region of Indiana. Examples could include Lake Michigan, The Dunes, Purdue University, etc. Artists must complete murals on site, or they may take blades off site to complete at the artist's expense. The start date for the exhibit is Spring 2021 and artwork should be completed Summer 2021.
