Corridor Development Office

Corridor Development identifies current and future segments of roadway that are or will be experiencing operational or capacity challenges, concentrating on the Interstate system and higher-volume arterial routes. Identified areas of need are evaluated in a preliminary engineering process that includes data collection, purpose & need definition, operational analysis, alternative development, cost estimation and recommendation on next steps that is presented in a Project Intent Report. Proposed projects advance into INDOT’s asset management annual call for projects process, where they are scored, ranked, vetted, and potentially recommended for development and construction funding, subject to funding constraints.
